When I last posted, I stated that I was having to delay my bicycle ride from Cronulla to Fremantle (originally Fremantle to Bondi), due to Sydney being sent into lockdown because of a Covid-19 outbreak. I also stated that I’d be doing that ride, one way or another. However, since then, the situation has become somewhat worse – lockdown has been extended for another week, and will likely be extended again. Neighbouring states are tightening their borders against NSW. As a result, it’s likely that I won’t be able to be able to do my ride from coast to coast. So, I’ve come up with a new route!
Le Tour de NSW!
Ok, so it’s not as fancy as cycling from coast to coast. And maybe the title doesn’t sound as catchy as ‘An Indian Pacific Adventure’, or ‘Le Tour de France’! But I’ve previously stated that the route didn’t really matter. What matters is the cause that I’m doing it for, and that is fundraising for FightMND. I’ve set up a new QR code for donations. If the route ever changes again, resulting in an alteration of the fundraising page address, the QR code will remain the same. This new route will allow me to spend some money in New South Wales towns which have been hit so hard over the last couple of years – drought, bushfires, floods and now Covid-19. Ok, it won’t be a large sum of money. But every little bit helps.
On a positive note, I’ll be getting my second Covid jab next Thursday! So, I’m looking forward to that.
